Welcome to my Independent Psychotherapy and CBT Practice

I am an Accredited Cognitive Psychotherapist (BABCP) and have been offering evidence based psychological therapies within the NHS and private practice for over 20 years.

If you are struggling with emotional, behavioural or relationship difficulties, I am able to offer you flexible, compassionate and collaborative treatment to help you resolve problems and increase your sense of wellbeing.

There are many ways to address psychological issues, and I will work with you to find the approach or combination of approaches, that suits you.  I always work within a theoretical approach that has a sound evidence base - most well-known being CBT - together with modalities that have grown from Cognitive Therapy e.g. ACT, Mindfulness, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Schema Focussed Therapy - you can find fuller descriptions of these on my website www.tracyavis.co.uk

I know for myself, and have learned from many women who are experiencing perimenopause, menopause or post menopause, that some of the biological changes can create overwhelming psychological symptoms including sleep problems, brain fog, anxiety, irritability and anger.  These can cause havoc with our sense of self and create problems within relationships and families.  Everyday tasks and work can become really hard to cope with well.  Sometimes women find that their sense of identity, confidence, and worth are shattered.

Of course women also have to deal with other significant and current life events and pressures during this time.  Women may be caring for children, parents, a job or career; past traumas and other earlier negative life experiences may also be re-appearing.

Suffice it to say, having a space for support and understanding whilst experimenting with some tried and texted strategies for dealing with life - could be worth a try. Please make contact to arrange an initial assessment with me if you think you’d benefit from this kind of approach.   My website www.tracyavis.co.uk has a contact page or you can email me at enquires@tracyavis.co.uk or send a message to the phone number 07792524591.
